Mamitha Baiju has become one of South Indian cinema’s most visible young stars in 2026, moving from Malayalam breakout fame to major Tamil and bilingual releases in a matter of months. After *Premalu* and *Dude* established her as a commercially reliable lead, this year has placed her opposite Dhanush, Vijay, Suriya and Nivin Pauly in quick succession. That run has also set up her next slate, which now stretches across Tamil and Malayalam projects still in post-production or on the floor. Her 2026 theatrical year is already packed. *Kara*, opposite Dhanush, arrived on 30 April. She then appeared as Vijay’s daughter Viji in *Jana Nayagan*, released on 23 July. Mid-August brought two more high-profile titles: Venky Atluri’s *Vishwanath and Sons* with Suriya on 14 August, and Girish A.D.’s Malayalam romantic comedy *Bethlehem Kudumba Unit* with Nivin Pauly on 21 August. Together, those films have pushed her from regional favourite to a pan-South name. The first confirmed film still waiting for theatres is *Irandu Vaanam*. Directed by Ram Kumar of *Ratsasan* fame and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, it pairs Mamitha with Vishnu Vishal. The film is completed, music is by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, and the first single *Vellichudare* is already out. A firm release date has not been locked, though listings have pointed to a late-2026 window. Two other projects define her immediate pipeline. *Hello Dear* reunites her with *Premalu* co-star Sangeeth Prathap, this time as romantic leads, under debutant director Dinoy Paulose and producer Ashiq Usman. A first-look poster calling it “a hello, a mess, a love story” was released in August 2026. In Tamil, she is the lead in *PRS01*, the first film from Pradeep Ranganathan’s production banner PR Show. Directed by a six-member team called The Alpha Unit, it also stars Ashwath Marimuthu and is planned as a Tamil-Telugu-Malayalam release. *Premalu 2*, once announced, has been shelved after the makers said they were not satisfied with the script. Taken together, Mamitha’s next phase is less about one language and more about range: a completed romantic drama with Vishnu Vishal, a Malayalam rom-com with a familiar co-star, and a multilingual production led by Pradeep Ranganathan’s new banner. Release dates for *Irandu Vaanam* and *PRS01* can still shift, but her 2026 momentum has already made her one of the busiest young actresses working across Malayalam and Tamil cinema.
