Ashika Ranganath is a popular South Indian actress known for her work in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil cinema. Born in 1996 in Karnataka, she rose to fame with Crazy Boy and later won SIIMA Best Actress awards for Madhagaja and O2.

Ashika Ranganath was born on 5 August 1996 in Tumkur, Karnataka, into a Kannada-speaking family. Her father Ranganath is a civil contractor and her mother Sudha Ranganath is a homemaker. She has an elder sister, Anusha Ranganath, who is also an actress. Ashika completed her schooling at Bishop Sargant School in Tumkur before moving to Bengaluru for higher studies. She pursued pre-university education at Jyoti Nivas College and later earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science. While studying at Jyoti Nivas College, Ashika participated in the Clean and Clear Fresh Face Bangalore contest and finished as the runner-up of Miss Fresh Face 2014. This opportunity proved life-changing when Kannada director Mahesh Babu spotted her and cast her as the female lead in the romantic comedy Crazy Boy (2016). The film marked her official entry into Sandalwood and earned her a SIIMA nomination for Best Female Debut – Kannada. Trained in freestyle, belly and western dance forms, she quickly adapted to the demands of cinema. After her debut, Ashika appeared in several notable Kannada films including Mass Leader (2017) opposite Shivrajkumar, Mugulu Nage (2017) with Ganesh, and the commercially successful Raambo 2 (2018) opposite Sharan. Her performance in Madhagaja (2021) opposite Sriimurali brought her widespread recognition and the SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Kannada. She further strengthened her position with films like Avatara Purusha, Raymo and the medical thriller O2 (2024), for which she won her second SIIMA Best Actress – Kannada trophy. Expanding beyond Kannada cinema, Ashika made her Tamil debut with Pattathu Arasan (2022) and entered Telugu films with Amigos (2023) opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. She later shared screen space with Nagarjuna in Naa Saami Ranga (2024) and has upcoming projects including Vishwambhara with Chiranjeevi and Sardar 2. Known for her expressive performances and glamorous screen presence, she has steadily built a pan-South Indian career while remaining one of the most followed Kannada actresses on social media.
